History
Hairdressing Training (HT) was one of the first Jisc initiatives to provide vocational e-learning resources to the further education community. The unique advantage of the service has been that all content produced is by those who teach in further education and that everything shared has been usefully mapped to the NVQ and SVQ curriculum.
Hairdressing Training has proved extremely popular with teachers and students alike. Feedback from the Hairdressing Training community indicates that hairdressing students prefer the visual nature of online materials, and also that they find it invaluable to be able to access these resources anytime, anywhere – in college at home or when training in a salon.
Today the service continues to evolve, with a clear focus on accuracy and relevancy of content aligned with the latest National Occupational Standards (NOS) and mapped to Hairdressing and Barbering qualifications, offered by ITEC; VTCT; City & Guilds and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), – leading UK Awarding Organisations.
The old Hairdressing Training site has been closed. However, an archival copy is available at Wayback.
